With numerous combinations of host adapters, switches, hubs, routers, bridges, disks, disk enclosures, tapes, changers etc. that have to work together on different operating systems with different protocols such as SCSI and Fibre Channel, there is a strong need for cross-platform, cross-protocol testing that allows for automated test runs of several combinations of components for the purposes of general functionality, data integrity and performance.
